Close to the beginning of the year, I began work on a new animated project. It took all of seven months to complete

That animation, now titled "KINA SKY" is currently a finalist in the Nickelodeon Animation Festival for 2009. It is currently up for the Viewer's Choice Award....

As to wether or not I will win, I am uncertain. But I am appreciative of the fact that i did get nominated, My animation aired on Nicktoons Today for all America to see, it is online for all the world to see on the Nickelodeon website, and that people continue to support and vote for me. I am proud to be the only person representing the Caribbean and that now people will know that Jamaicans can hold their own alongside the best that the world has to offer in the world of animation. I am by no means the best or the greatest at what I do, I think my stuff is alright, but as long as my work manages to make one person smile, or can brighten a day, I am happy.

I will see where this all ends on the 29th of November, the last day of voting. By the 30th the winner will be announced...whatever happens, this has truely been amazing for a self-taught, Half Swiss Half Jamaican Girl, who's never had a formal animation lesson in her life.

It has been a struggle, God He knows how many times I've wanted to give up....but somehow, He gives me the strength to go on because He sees what lies ahead, and that all I have to do is hang on and fight to achieve.

The loss of a friend I've never met face to face, inspired me to write the uplifting storyline of KINA SKY...Through talking with him, I'v come to realize what is truely important in this life, that we are fleeting and fragile...that when we leave this earth, we will live on in our past actions and in how people remember us, and in the work we leave behind. and I thank God that I met him...Darren Smith, thank you....one day I will still ride that Harley Davidson with you.
